Rather than saying another step backward, I probably should say another year backward. I say this because the practice of holding a youngster back in his or her schooling for a year is now becoming more prevalent.

Since the Beijing Olympics many people are trying to compare athletes from different countries. They also wonder why some of the countries are so successful in selected sports (aside from the fact that they have many participants). Those who are more scientifically bent are curious as to the research being done in some of the more successful countries. All of these relate to the level of athletes found in these countries.

In addition, it is not uncommon to find articles dealing with exercises for athletes in specific sports. If they are training articles, they typically deal with exercises or training routines that are used with athletes in a certain sport.
